Urban Roots Youth – Fridays for Green Future Volunteer Program

Urban-Roots-Youth-Free-Weekly-Program-pstreetnewsContributed by Green Thumbs Growing Kids. Green Thumbs cultivates environmental stewardship through hands-on garden and food education for urban children and their communities. Urban Roots Youth is a youth-centered program that takes place in our greenhouses and gardens, after school, from winter through spring. It’s a great way to get to know other secondary school students who are interested in food and the environment, and to learn about urban agriculture. As you learn and help in the school gardens, you can earn volunteer hours and a guaranteed interview for a potential summer job position.

8 week session in the Winter (Starting January 31th), or 9 week session in the Spring (Starting April 17th). Can attend both winter and spring sessions if interested!
Join us and eat great food, meet new friends and get your hands dirty!
