Thanks a billion for your support

Thank you to my fellow candidates and you , as residents, for your commitment to the election process and being engaged. It is people like you who give me hope for all we can accomplish together and that we can continue working together to make Ward 13 – Toronto Centre all it can be.

Now that the election is over, I am thinking back on my experience as a newbie to politics, an independent, a woman and immigrant running for office in what should be a non partisan process and all the lessons I have learned.

What an experience it has been ! It has been challenging, and rewarding, humbling and awe-inspiring, disappointing and rewarding all at the same time. It has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life and it is You I thank for that. It has been an experience that I will cherish, and build upon.

To everyone who took the time to talk with me, meet with me, support me and trust me with your stories, hopes and dreams for our ward – I say THANKS A BILLION – You are all amazing and are awe inspiring. I promise I will cherish everything you shared; You have helped me learn and to see this city in a way I didn’t before. Even at times when I thought running was too much – it is You who kept me going, and I want you to know, I will not betray your trust and will work with you to ensure that the promises made are kept and continue working against division and towards bringing our diverse and amazing ward together. You are Ward 13 and for that, I thank you !

Even though not all our voices were heard, and not all eligible voters voted, together we must hold our elected leaders to account and ensure that our voices continue to be heard and listened to. Lots of promises were made, lots of visibility was on display and lots of deals of were made. We need to be alert, and make sure that the promises are fulfilled, visibility is maintained (and not until 4 years from now) and these deals are communicated to ensure working for everyone.

I wish all the successful candidates every success in their new roles, and look forward to seeing all they will accomplish for us. Thank you !
