Making and Impact

Impact Skateboard ClubImpact Skateboard Club is a Toronto-based not-for-profit organization for children and youth, focused on inclusion and personal development through skateboarding. Programming and events are based on three pillars: education, accessibility, and social justice.

We use the challenges and circumstances inherent to skateboarding in order to teach children about healthy self esteem, boundaries and emotional wellbeing, and interacting with the world around them. The skateboarding community serves as a lens through which service and stewardship can be championed.

Part of Impact’s core ideology is that everyone should have the opportunity to experience skateboarding and the wideranging benefits it can grant.

For programs that have fees attached, we offer scholarships to those facing financial barriers. Our team is also well-versed and capable of accommodating children with developmental and physical disabilities.

Our summer camp program is based in East York, but during the spring and fall we run weekend lesson programs for children and adults at Underpass Skatepark. The 8 weeklong spring session has filled to capacityand it’s been so rewarding to watch the kids progress week-by-week.

Beyond skateboarding, the kids learn about respect for the space, for each other, and for themselves. We’re so grateful for this community
