Contributed by Jennifer Doiron and Heather Hopkins. The first weekend of February is always a momentous time in the amateur boxing world. This year was no exception with the 36th Annual Brampton Cup, held at the Brampton Soccer Centre over three days in three boxing rings, hosting over 250 boxers from over 60 boxing clubs.
Cabbagetown Boxing Club hit the ground running on Day One, with all boxers winning their fights. Day Two and Three had a mix of wins and losses. With the number of boxers participating and the number of fights won in the preliminary and semi-final rounds, Cabbagetown walked away with the Team Trophy – The Brampton Cup. Congratulations go out to the boxers who fought at the Brampton Cup:
Noah Brockaert (75kg) – Gold
Xavier Doiron (42kg) – Gold
Khalid Allam (64kg) – Silver
Mary Kelly (60kg) – Silver
Peter Nowaczek (91kg) – Silver
Aiden Puopolo (70kg) – Silver

The hard work and dedication from all of the boxers and coaches has truly paid off. After 9 years, Cabbagetown Boxing has reclaimed the Team Trophy at the Brampton Cup. This is only the beginning, look for great things from this team in the future.
