Mike O’Shea…doing good things! Do you remember where you were and what you were doing? In this, the first of a six-part serialization of Desmond P. Ryan’s crime fiction novel 10-33 Assist PC, you will be taken back to that date.
It was a beautiful October afternoon. In the west end of Toronto, at approximately 2:30 p.m., four undercover cops from the Toronto Police Service’s Juvenile Prostitution Task Force were on the verge of cracking a major human trafficking ring.
One of them—Detective Constable Mike O’Shea, a cop with a knack for working hard and following hunches–was particularly driven to get the young girls caught in this ring home before Christmas. His wish was on the verge of being fulfilled when a cop from another team burned his cover. It seemed that the year-long investigation had been destroyed and the girls had been stolen away again.
