Cabbagetown BIA at City Hall

On February 2nd the Cabbagetown BIA was at City Hall with TABIA (Toronto Association Of Business Improvement Areas) along with many of the other 83 Toronto BIAs to celebrate the first official #BIAweek. A trending twitter chat was held at 10am followed by a tour of the Toronto City Hall lobby decked out in banners and display boards from many of the BIAs. A lunch followed with the Mayor welcoming everyone and the presentation of the official proclamation of BIA week. Mayor John Tory reminded the over 200 in attendance of all the work BIAs do across the city of Toronto, which is often thought to be done by the city. He noted the festivals, branding, marketing, flowers, streetscape and more these not-for- profit, volunteer led organizations work on to better our areas as well as the business support TABIA assists with at the municipal and provincial levels.
