Hi Five For Life!

Contributed by Jody Shulgan.  HFFL- is a health and wellness program for elementary school children that ignites self discovery around how we can make small changes that affect our overall health and wellbeing for life. They strive to make a strong connection between self care, caring for others and the planet.

The program has inspired my two children, ages 10 &13, to be more mindful and aware of their own choices so they can control their future wellbeing! HFFL teaches 5 Healthy Habits; Sleep Better, Move More, Eat Smarter, Relax & Recharge, and Be the Change…that have become part of our family daily routine and dialogue.

This is an inquiry-based program that uses tools such as the HFFL journal and LogBook which has helped my family to Focus on our health, become more mindful of healthy habits, and live with intention.

Eating Smarter is an expanded part of the program where HFFL offers TWEEN cooking classes. This is where my kids explored sustainable practices around the kitchen. As a result, my family has had so much fun cooking together and sharing healthier food because we are committed to practicing “you are what you eat” together! Thank you Hi Five For Life!
