Summer in Cabbagetown

Contributed by Gerald Michaud, Broker – Manager – HomeLife/Realty One Ltd., Brokerage. I love Cabbagetown in the summer. It’s a beautiful and family friendly neighbourhood with delightful surprises at every turn.  I love that in five minutes flat I can be transported to the bucolic settings of Riverdale Farm.  But, most of all, I love exploring the tree-lined side streets and admiring the beautiful gardens and the incredibly diverse architecture styles which include Gothic Revival, Bay-and-Gable styles, Second Empire and Romanesque Revival, and even some single storey cottages – Did you know that Cabbagetown has the largest concentration of Victorian homes in all of North America?

Aside from the stunning architecture, I love the many shops, restaurants one can find simply strolling down the streets. It boggles the mind to think of how much delicious food is on offer at one of the many restaurants, deli, coffee shops, and more that our area has to offer. Grab some take out to support local businesses – choose from Italian food, Thai, Vegan, pub favourites, Asian inspired cuisine, Jamaican, and so much more.  All establishments are a short walking distance to one another and they are easy to find online.  So, come on down to Cabbagetown and don’t forget to make a point of treating yourself to gelato or a delicious fresh pastry while you stop by to grab a cup of the best coffee you’ll ever have in Toronto!
