Contributed by Don Moffatt. Welcome to the wonderful world of Gardening. As a Professional Gardener for 25+ years, Don has learned many lessons. The most important lesson is Patience…prepare your ”groundwork”!
With spring here, we’re all anxious to jump into the Garden work. Starting early can do more harm than good. Be sure the cold nights are gone, be sure the ground is warming up, be sure you’re not just doing it to ease your winter blahs. Living things appreciate patience and will flourish better with your diligent preparation.
If you need to get going early, prepare your tools. A sharp tool Is a safe tool. Oil your wooden handles, lubricate your joints, sharpen your shears, snips etc. That’s the best early garden work anyone can do, that and call a pro. Stay patient and enjoy!
