Cabbagetown Outdoor Gallery

Contributed by Gerald Michaud, Broker – ManagerHomeLife/Realty One Ltd., Brokerage — Recently, we commissioned a piece of Art by artist Christian English-Pratt.  The Art mural being painted is on our wall facing Broadcast Lane.  We hope to provide an enjoyable walking experience by creating an outdoor gallery in Cabbagetown.

The goal of the outdoor gallery is to enrich the experience of passersby and residents when they stroll down the lane by beautifying it and showcasing local artists.

“The piece is about the power of thought. Thoughts are messy, confusing and sometimes unclear, they come sporadically and can sometimes be confusing. Its easy to get lost in our own minds. But with enough introspection and in time, we refine our thoughts and find guidance to where we want to be and what we want to achieve. We may not be able to control some of the things that happen in our lives but with a shift of perspective sometimes we can see things in a new light. Its about the idea that sometimes we may not know where we are going but with enough faith we will find where we need to be.” - Christian English-Pratt

We hope to increase the use of the space and to draw more people into our community.
We hope to alleviate the negative impact on our local businesses during COVID-19.
We want to provide access to visual art since visiting museums and galleries in the city have also been restricted.
We hope the outdoor gallery becomes another must-see Toronto destination here in Cabbagetown.
Next time, you go for a walk in the neighbourhood, come and check out this public space.  Then share it proudly on your favorite social media as a destination!
