Cabbagetown is a different place is the summer. Quieter, less vehicle traffic, but more foot and cycle traffic. The kiddos are out for summer, they’re not always looking up and or paying attention, so we need to! Speaking of Kiddos, The Kiwanis Club (see pg.5) and the Cabbagetown Youth Centre both have an amazing array of fun filled activities, clubs and camps happening this summer.
Our very own community is the place to shop for all your ‘hostess needs’. Let’s all make of point of supporting our local retailers as much as possible. Going to a neighbour’s backyard for a BBQ, grab some treats from Steak and Chops. Most importantly, don’t forget your hostess gift! There are so many fabulous shops to pick up something special, Spruce always has a wonderful selection.
Going for an adventurous walk in the beautiful sunshine? Try the trail to the Evergreen Brickworks. Allen Gardens more your speed, relax and have a picnic? All your provisions can be picked up at one of our many local delis’, Epicure has a great selection of meats, bread and yummy sweet treats. Prefer a stroll to Riverdale Farm or the Necropolis, stop by ‘Park Snacks’ for an ice cream
