Parliament Street- “The Most Best Street”

Contributed by Lindsay Matheson — There are a dozen things I love about living in Cabbagetown – but one I often take for granted is how lucky we are to have the shops on Parliament street.

I was out doing errands with my 3 children on the weekend and the 6-year-old was chatting away to me and asked, “what street is this called again?” I answered that we were on Parliament street and she immediately responded, “this is the most best street!” Seeing it through her eyes reminded me just how great it is. From the things the kids love (the Dollar Store, the Cheese Stick store (Epicure), the Coffee Shop (Jet Fuel), the Balloon Store (Home Hardware) to the things I love (the butcher, Labour of Love, Spruce, Rexall, Shoppers, The Ripe Banana store (Yarls), Lennies….the list goes on and on) we are fortunate to have such a diverse array of goods and services within easy walking distance.
Take a minute to appreciate “most best street” the next time you are out.
