Contributed by Sarah Cook – Principal Publisher. As I write sit to write this evening, nearing the end of August, I realize that ‘sweater weather’ has begun!
What does early FALL mean for you? The Exhibition, The Cabbagetown Festival, back to school shopping ‘for the whole family’? Back to work, back to the gym, back to the daily grind? Cooking comfort food or ‘wearing comfort’? For me…it’s sweater weather! Falling for Fall, putting the your lighter summer clothes away, and unearthing your cherished comfy sweaters from their summer slumber. Cooler nights can only mean one thing…back to reality!
Summer for most brings on exciting new adventures, fun new projects, or trips near or afar. Whether you’re off to some exotic locale with the family, or your fulfilling your ‘bucket list’. It’s foot loose and fancy free…But I like my typical weekly routine.
Normalcy can be a welcome sanctuary in a busy world…I enjoy the sway of the day to day monotony that the Autumn days bring. I find Fall to be a time to rest, a time to recharge. I know some of you ‘rest and recharge’ in the summer months…mine, well, they can be gruelling… amazingly fun-filled, but exhausting.
So, hears to ‘Falling For Fall’ – apple picking, the changing and falling of leaves, and pumpkin spice. Cheers to sweater weather, harvest moons, Thanksgiving, pumpkin pies and snuggling up in front of the fire at the cottage, or at home…aaaaahhhh- home sweet home.
